Meet Our Veterinarians

Dr. Amanda Smith
She/her
Dr. Smith grew up in Port Orchard and attended veterinary school at Oklahoma State University. Following graduation, Dr. Smith proudly served as a veterinarian in the United States Army for three years before returning home to Port Orchard.

Dr. Smith’s professional interests are varied. She has practiced in emergency/critical care, oncology-specific care, and general practice. She remains very interested in oncology care and behavior as components of general practice. Above all, Dr. Smith has felt privileged to witness the power of the human-animal bond through veterinary medicine and it serves as a continual motivation for professional growth.

In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys baking, jigsaw puzzles and home renovation projects. She is married to her high school sweetheart Adam, and they have 6 children.​ They share their home with five cats (Milton, Newton, Eleanor, Simone, & Margot) & two Pomeranians (Elton John and Tina Turner).

Dr. Tomoko Kiyonaga
She/her
Dr. Kiyonaga (Dr. TK) obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 2011. After graduating from veterinary school, she completed a one-year small animal internship with a goal to become a well-rounded general practitioner.
Following her internship, Dr. TK has been in general practice in Port Orchard and Gig Harbor. Dr. TK has a special interest in small animal acupuncture and became a certified acupuncturist in 2016.

Dr. TK tries to visit her family in Japan as much as possible. In her spare time, she likes to go on nature walks. She also likes to try out new recipes, watch movies, read (in Japanese) and work on various art projects.

Dr. TK has her hands full with her two dogs, Maple & Benny, and an 8-year-old cat, Dean.

Dr. Denise Woods
She/her
Dr. Woods’ is originally from Anacortes Washington before her family relocated to Kansas. She attended undergrad at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawks!) and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2003.

Dr. Woods has worked in general practice in Bremerton and more recently in urgent care/emergency medicine in Tacoma.
​
Dr. Woods thrives on the relationships built with her patients and their families. Joining the team at Willow Tree Animal Hospital has allowed her the opportunity to rejuvenate this passion for connection and long-term patient care.
​
Outside of her time at work, she enjoys spending time adventuring outdoors, riding bikes, playing tennis, and gardening. Dr. Woods lives in Gig Harbor with her husband and three children. They share their home with one dog (Gracie), and three cats (Boots, Sabrina, and Yvaine).
